What order do you paint?

A friend and customer had some time over spring break, he called me and asked me “What is the proper order to paint a room”?  Good question

Start with the ceiling so if it drips on the walls or trim it can be wiped off.  It is also easier to cut in the wall instead of the ceiling.

Then move to the trim.  You can overlap the wall on the casing and baseboard a little.

Last, paint the walls.  Start by cutting in the ceiling, windows, doors and baseboards.  It is easier to cut in with wall paint straight on door casings and ceilings.

On a note about taping.  I stopped taping because I hate the way the paint bleeds under the tape or pulls away the fresh ceiling or trim paint.
